Families at war — The bombing.

After the landing on Lampedusa the columns of the allied liberators advanced.
The Boston escorted by the Spitfires and the Hurricanes led the way for the American and English armored columns, wiping out the last Italian and German troops trying to obstruct the advance, the bulk of the Axis troops had concentrated on the mountains around Rome , Hitler’s order was peremptory, the capital was not to fall, Mussolini had lost its splendor, the war the Germans, Americans and English had undermined the iron will of what had been called the greatest Italian of all time by ‘ English Churcill, the man of epic deeds and boundless love for his native soil.
While the allies were preparing a new landing with great fanfare at Anzio, armored troops continued to march towards the north aided by local partisans who hit the Germanic forces from the inside by blowing up factories and sabotaging defense lines, a small squad, a light deployment of Italian forces. Germans had stopped in the village of Brenna, the order was to defend at all costs, the local Breda factory that built pipes and pieces for mortars, the people of the village had been evacuated, a few brave had decided not to abandon the hometown, naturally the factory workers with their families remained in the place.
